Oqera - Company Overview
Oqera was shaped with purpose from the outset.
Founded by Aqeel Merchant and Moosa Khan, the house grew from a shared fascination with fragrance and the contrast within it. Their tastes leaned in different directions, and from that contrast, the house began to take form.
One gravitated toward darker compositions built around leather, smoke, and structure. The other was drawn to oud, warmth, and restrained sweetness. Conversations that began as admiration slowly deepened into exploration. Evenings spent analysing blends evolved into trials, adjustments, and careful reconsideration.
Admiration gradually gave way to experimentation, and experimentation to measured refinement.
For two years, formulations were tested, stripped back, and rebuilt. Nothing moved forward until it carried clarity, depth, and composure. Oqera did not arrive quickly. It was shaped through patience and conviction.
